We typically don't know how to drive on ice or snow and the manpower to prep streets are not as prevalent like our friends up north. Many residents' homes were not weatherized, some didn't protect their vehicles, others didn't stock up on groceries and supplies. Texas weather is bi-polar so I can somewhat understand why people doubted the weather forecast. I for one, didn't think conditions would be as bad as they were! However, let me say anytime there's a potential weather threat, I, me, myself, makes a point to ensure I have non-perishable items, bottled water, and other necessities JUST IN CASE a threat turns to reality! Yeah, I don't play about that...I gotta eat!!!!

Texas this is Shirley...Now Texas, I don't know how you're gonna take this but whether you be cool or come out of a bag on me..."

Shirley showed her complete ass and came in and wreck havoc! She came in with a vengeance! One of the many tragedies happened in the wee hours of Thursday morning, February 11th. Residents were met with record low temperatures compounded with freezing rain, sleet, and snow. This combination proved deadly as over 100 vehicles were involved in a massive pileup that claimed the lives of six people.

As if that wasn't enough, ERCOT(Electric Reliability Council of Texas) and Oncor uglass decided to turn off the lights! There's no cute way to say it other than Texas faded to black! And I think it's ironic that ERCOT has 'reliability' in its name because there was nothing reliable about the stunt pulled during Shirley! I could have you pull up a chair and talk about Electric Grid Gate but I'll keep it to myself.. Read this article to learn more about how Texas leadership failed its constituents.

Shirley and her man, ERCOT, left many of us cold and without water for days!!! Over a MILLION Texas residents were without power for days!!!!!!! I, personally, felt the harsh treatment of Shirley. I was without electricity for at least 3 days in subzero temperatures! It was torture! Blankets of ice and snow lined the roadways and prevented many from traveling to seek other means of shelter. Many Texans scrambled trying to find alternative lodging, food, and water. Some lucked out, while others, like myself, tough it out at home praying and hoping for the best. For many of us, our vehicles became heating stations. Thank God I had bottled water to drink and quick meals like tuna and summer sausage to eat. Layers of clothes, socks, jackets, coats, blankets, body heat, and boots is what I believe are responsible for my survival! Thank God I didn't freeze! Unfortunately, that wasn't everyone's testimony. There were many house fires and carbon monoxide incidents that resulted from families trying to find unconventional heating methods.

But wait there's more

We finally see the light...THE SUN! We're no longer freezing, the snow and the ice is melting, electricity if restored for many of us, water is now on and running for a lot of us! YAY...right!? NO! For many of us, busted pipes became a pain in the you know what!!! Busted pipes caused incredible amounts of flooding that destroyed many of our homes and property. Many were under boil notices! IT was crazy ya'll!

Recounting these events is proving to be exhausting, read more here or Google the devastation we experienced during Storm Shirley. I'm tired and haven't made a dent in the madness that was Winter Storm Shirley!! There are countless numbers of stories out there of survival and challenges. What I take away from this experience is that I am strong and resilient! Whenever faced with trouble or hardship, I like to comb through the rumble and discover what I can salvage...in other words, I ask myself, "what are the takeaways?" Well, I learned that I need to invest in equipment that allows the continuity of a certain quality of life....i.e, heating, lighting, and cooling sources. And I could also used more real winter attire and I'm so down for a shopping trip!

If you can, please continue to pray for the victims of Winter Storm Shirley. Many of us are still dealing with the devastation and aftermath of this storm!
Mselle81http://www.blogger.com/profile/18296847503926971372noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8090267637824502873.post-49025941078942001912021-02-03T20:14:00.002-08:002021-02-03T20:14:18.549-08:00

DISCLAIMER-Don't judge me, judge ya edges!

I had a lil glass of wine tonight and I'm feeling pretty nice! Forgive any errors or any incomplete thought that may leave you questioning or guessing. Use context clues...

"Hi, my name is LaNiya and I am a procrastinator!"

Now can we talk about this thing? Let me go ahead and expose myself and put allllll my tea out there! While putting an idea or aspiration off sounds good at the time, we low-key know we'll forever "get to it" until we really get on our own nerves and decide to either see it through or say "forget it!" I will be the 1st to admit that I am a procrastinator! 💁I am a Taurus through and through and aside from our stubbornness, we are notoriously known for our procrastination! Don't press us with questions about the logistics of what we said we were doing because our stubborn side will tell us not to do it at all! Judge ya edges!

I don't proclaim procrastination as a badge or honor; but rather an invited thief of possibilities! I breed ideas like Octomom but allow procrastination to abort seeds of potential. I have those moments of regret when I kick myself for quitting before getting out the gate good. I know friends and family probably think all I do is talk a good talk but never see any idea come to fruition. In the last 5+ years, I have initiated a YouTube channel, Elle's Way blog, online boutique, private investigation company, real estate career, travel agency, food blogger, opening a laundromat, a book that I've been writing since 2017, and a host of other things. WOW....do ya'll see this 👆

Anywho, judge ya edges UGLY! In recent months, I have made a point to be more intentional and strategic in how I move. Part of this strategy is to work in silence. A friend of mine recently shared she purchased a home-right. I was caught off guard because she casually mentioned it as if it was not a huge feat. She said that she was divinely ordered to remain silent until the mission was complete. IT WAS IN THAT MOMENT THAT I REALIZED I TALKED TOO MUCH AND NEEDED TO ADOPT THAT SAME PRACTICE! I'm so guilty of oversharing. Sharing too much and not yielding results can have a negative impact on how people view you. And we don't want that, right?

So excuse me for my silence. Excuse me for not contributing much to the conversation when sharing goals and aspirations. It's nothing personal but I have to do something different to get a different result.

I know I'm not the only one who has diarrhea of the mouth...who else is guilty of starting something and stopping? If you're a recovered procrastinator, how did you overcome it? Help us out!

Toodles,

~Elle
Mselle81http://www.blogger.com/profile/18296847503926971372noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8090267637824502873.post-75693417851778372782021-01-21T00:27:00.043-08:002021-01-27T11:26:16.859-08:00Long Time No See

Wow! I can't believe it's been a decade since I last posted on my blog. As you could imagine, soooooooo much as happened: from career change, my location, and much more. Life was good a decade ago, or so I thought. I was in a really good place in my career and personal life. I was established in my profession and taking on dual roles as a caseworker, trainer, and recruiter. I loved working as an advocate for children and families. Partnering with attorneys, judges, law enforcement, and other members of the team brought me so much joy. While the job had its challenges, overall, it was definitely a respectable career. I was in a serious relationship on the verge of marriage with the man of my dreams. Honey a fool in <strike>love</strike> was what it was. I mean, I was so in love, I couldn't see the forest for the trees. My main focus was he and I. I guess you can say I had tunnel vision with a wedding as my focus. Well, the relationship dismantled after a year. The events that took place after an amicable split ushered me into the second most darkest moment in my life. I felt weak after my world turned upside down to the point of losing the urge to do anything I loved to do. I gave up on the blog, my YouTube channel, acting, relationships, marriage, you name it. My happiness was tied to things that produced a superficial feeling that felt so authentic. Getting out the bed became a chore. I felt so weak and sick in my body because "love" became a disease that physically attacked me. I may share more intimate details on another blog but just know that I WENT THROUGH!!!!! If you know a word that packs a more powerful punch than HURT, comment below!
Anywho, notice I said "I WENT THROUGH"...that means I came out to tell the story:
🏃💨Ayyyeeeeeee Gloway!!!
And the story will be told on a later blog.

Anywho, today, I am almost a middle aged woman, Still single. No children. Switched careers due to job security concerns caused by the downturn of the economy. I miss the essence of Case Management so much. Case management kept me on my toes and the job itself was very rewarding. I tried to go back but was no longer welcomed in that field. What's my occupation now? Let's just thank God for a resource and we'll leave it at that mmmkkk? Don't you dare feel sorry for me because I am grateful for every closed door, every failed relationship, and the place I'm currently in. Heartaches experienced were dodged bullets in disguise!!! Honey, you may not understand the "why" at the moment but I'm a witness that it's for your good!!!

Anywho, this entry will be extremely short! Don't be too hard on me because I've been out of commission for so long. I know I was all over the place. Remember I told ya'll casework kept me sharp? Well let's just say my braincells are under utilized these days so it may take some time to recalibrate parts of my brain. It's indeed a struggle so I do desire ya prayers mmmmkkk?!

I look forward to reconnecting with ya'll(are my followers still with me or all you on sabbatical too?)

Here's to moving on and having a successful relaunch with newfound purpose and passion! Is that a run-on? If it is, fix it in your head and charge it to fizzled brain stems.

I WANNA SAVE FOREVER!WHEN I SAY COU, YOU SAY PON! COU....COU.....

Feel the excitement? Ok, settle down! Yours truly is overjoyed by her Walgreens purchase today. I shared my happiness with my friends on Facebook and promised to blog about how I managed to save $17! Now remember, I am a beginner so my hauls are not as astronomical as professional/advance couponers. However, anytime I can save, I'm saving!

Here's what I purchased:

I apologize for the quality of the photo but I'm having some technical difficulties and this is the best I can do for right now. If you can't tell, in the back row there are 3 boxes of cereal. In the front row you see a bottle of Dawn Dish Detergent, 3 cans of Ajax, and 2 large bottles of SoftSoap Body Wash. I would have paid over $24 for this but I only paid $8! Now more advance couponers could have come out better than I did but I'll get there.

Before I get into the details, let me offer these tips!

Double check your coupons and make sure your strategy is fool proof before you enter the store. I made the mistake of thinking Lysol products were on sale 2 for $5 but it was actually Mr. Clean. DON'T ASK/DON'T TELL! I also forgot to bring my extra coupon for the Dawn Detergent. So my strategy plan was altered some.

Please remember you can request that transactions be done separately so that you can maximize your savings!

I almost forgot, buy SEVERAL Sunday newspapers! Comes in handy when you make several transactions! GEt it!?!

(These are things I've learned so far and if you have additional tips, please share!)

Let's get into it..............

Elle's strategy>>>

1st Transactions:
SoftSoap. 2 for $7. Used a $1 RR from a previous transaction.

<div style="font-family: "Courier New",Courier, monospace;">**Register Rewards or RR is the name of Walgreens cash back program. You can't use the RR on the SAME transaction. This is why it's necessary to do SEPARATE transactions.
<b style="font-family: "Courier New",Courier,monospace;"><div style="font-family: "Courier New",Courier,monospace;">
Total of 1st Transaction = $6.50.
Received $5 RR..

2nd Transaction:
Kellogg cereal for $1.99 (used a $1 off coupon on any THREE boxes of Kellogg cereal from coupons.com )
Like paying 1.66/box
Ajax(used Walgreens in-store coupon>>>3 for $1)
Like paying .33/can
Dawn(used an in-store Walgreens coupon>$.99 and a $.25 off coupon cut from the newspaper)
Like paying $.75/bottle <<<<hate again,="" buy="" coupons!="" didn="" have="" i="" make="" messed="" more="" multiple="" newspaper="" on="" one!="" one="" paper!="" s="" sunday="" sure="" t="" than="" this="" to="" up="">
</hate>

Total of 2nd Transaction: $19.23
After coupons and $5 RR(received from Transaction #1) = $1.71

Grand Total for both transactions= $25.73!
I paid $8.21! That's a savings of (drumroll please)>>>>$17.52!

I welcome your tips, couponing resources, and outlets! I'm eagered to learn, so please share! Get your coupons clipped, prepare your strategy, and get out there and save!
I've been MIA for quite some time for no real reason other than I just haven't felt like blogging because I've been torn over what to blog about. It's been on my mind to address various topics on religion, church, Christianity, and the like. I'm still working out the ins and outs but I do plan to blog about my thoughts when it comes to religion very soon. I know some may disagree with what I have to say, but my thoughts are just that, MY THOUGHTS!

Speaking of religion and church-and all that jazz, let's revisit the Eddie Long sex scandal. Oh, you think I forgot? Um, no! And hello to those who will just stop by to read what I have to say and not follow my blog...hello to you! You might as well follow because I see you! (waving) Anywho, we were told last year that both sides agreed to undergo mediation in an attempt to resolve this case. Well, I've learned that late February, one week ahead of the scheduled mediation date, mediation talks begin at an undisclosed, top secret location. According to I-Team, these mediation meetings were nothing short of intense and heated. The accusers were reported to have cursed Eddie Long while they gave accounts of the sexual misconduct they're accusing Long of. The accusers, reports said, were forthcoming with very graphic details of the inappropriate sexual interactions they experienced with Eddie Long. According to sources, Bishop Long "never responded." Wow is all I can say! I'm sure a settlement will be reached really soon. Why? Well for #1, Eddie Long doesn't want this to see a day in court. #2With a settlement comes hush money. #3The cleaner one can come out looking, the better! Besides, he is a bishop....right?

Let's hear from you. What are your thoughts?
If you don't know what I'm talking about, please mark an X on the rock you've been under. According to the former Mary Harvey, this book helped her deal with the hurt Steve Harvey brought to her life. Steve Harvey's ex-wife, Mary, has posted a series of Youtube videos that speak on the lies, the misleading of counsel during her divorce, as well as the indiscretions of her ex-husband, Steve. She goes into great detail, in addition to showing actual emails and postal mail to prove the validity of her allegations. Check out the video below:

To view more videos, click the above video to go to Youtube. SIDE NOTE: Why does this story sound like "Diary of A Mad Black Woman?"

The sensitive side of me empathize with Mary. Why? Because I know what it feels like to be extremely hurt by a man. I truly can't completely fault her for airing out her feelings and the circumstances surrounding the whole ordeal; especially if the other party is painting me in a negative light. Putting aside the fact that Steve Harvey makes us laugh and is a successful radio personality-how would you feel if a man jilted a woman in this way? I'm interested to know if Steve ever sincerely apologized for what happened(if the allegations are true). Granted, Mary doesn't sport a pristine halo, but she definitely didn't deserve to be treated as second best.

Now let me say this about Mary Harvey(former). HOW IN GOD'S CREATION DO YOU FALL FOR THE PRE-SCHOOL OKEY DOKE OF BEING REPRESENTED BY THE SAME COUNSEL AS YOUR SOON TO BE EX-HUSBAND? You're not the one bringing in the cash flow, so did you honestly think he would do his best to be unbiased and represent you to the best of his ability? (Ok, so I know I'm posing this question as if I'm speaking to her...so bare with me) I mean for someone who was handling his business affairs, I would think that a woman who was business savvy would be more wise to know better and choose, rather, to obtain independent legal representation. To put it straight, if Steve indeed did what you claimed, he played you!!! And you allowed it! I'm willing to bet should he and his current wife divorce, I'm convinced that she's going to play her cards right!

On another note, Steve responded to the allegations made my Mary. Here's what he said:

"I know the truth," declared Harvey to his listening audience. "But the matter is, the part that's hurtful in this is my wife and children had to be drugged [sic] into this. If you're going to be vindictive go ahead and aim it at me, but my son is coming in the room crying. And that's also her son. So why would you do this? Elle's POV: I didn't hear Mary drag the kids into this. She may have alluded to his lack of parenting(not in the series of videos) but what I heard didn't suggest this. I'll have to go back and re-watch. As far as dragging his wife in...why not, you're the one who "drugged" her in.

"And I don't even understand the purpose of it," he continued. "I mean, I got you mad 12 years ago, that's what we're doing now? And here's the thing that my father always taught me. He said, 'Son there's three sides to every story. It's their side, it's your side, and it's the truth.' And the truth 'gon come out. Because see, once you go public then you allow people to start asking some other types of questions.(bvnewswire) Read the complete article here.

So what do you all think? Let's talk about it! This thing is about to get really dirty! I will say that this woman is obviously still hurt about this thing. I'm sure she knows she was railroaded with the divorce settlement, considering the fact this man cheated during the marriage; and she is partially responsible for his success. And to give this woman who was there through the thick and thin, before he blew up, nothing but a $1000 per month child support check---then allegedly take the son away from his mother, and get full custody of him is a slap in the face-TWICE! Please know, that I still enjoy SH's comedy and the Steve Harvey Project(I don't do the SHMS because I listen to Rickey Smiley in the morning child). My intentions are not to bash him but rather to give my viewpoint of the situation! And let me say this, if his money stretched longer than what it was when he was with me and he's enjoying the fruit with another woman who came along when his success was peaking, I'll air dirty laundry too(that is if I was still bitter and hadn't move forward with my life) I'm just saying.Mselle81http://www.blogger.com/profile/18296847503926971372noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8090267637824502873.post-48641917831055749742011-01-14T16:09:00.000-08:002011-01-14T16:16:24.505-08:00LET'S GET FRUGAL-ICAL FRUGAL-ICALGet it---Frugical, like physical....(lame, I know)! Yes, I just made up a word! Webster, add it and credit me! Thank ya!

Anywho, I'm too excited about this frugal thing. I'll let you all in on a little secret of mine...come closer...closer...a little more. Ok, this year my motto is: Frugal in 2011! That's right, you read correctly, I plan on being frugal. Those that know me very well would think that this would be simple for me considering my father is beyond frugal(he's just down right stingy) with his money. On the contrary, it's really sort of hard. I love to shop and it doesn't matter how much it costs, if I like it, I'm buying. Simple as that!

But this is about to change. I think I'm beginning to become more aware of certain things in my life; and my money just so happen to be at the top of the list. After doing a little research, I noticed that I spend far too much on unnecessary mess! For instance, grabbing food on the go for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a snack in between, is ridiculous. Let's add that up:

Breakfast: $3.00
Lunch: $10.00
Dinner: $15
Total: $28.00 x 5= $140
do that at least 5 times per week and you'll end up spending close to $560/month or more!!!!!!

Now, my grand total was around $200.00 because I didn't eat out everyday, or I may have just ate 1 meal out for a particular day. Anywho, that's money that could have gone towards a bill, right? Senseless spending like this is what led me to focusing on becoming more frugal and spending conscience. In an effort to be more frugal, I've begun to seriously look for deals and utilize coupons and other discounts whenever possible.

With that said, I want to introduce to you my "shopping secrets" I've found. Remember "shopping secrets" because I will post blogs that will tell you where to go to find great deals. Time to get acquainted with writing January 1, 2011, instead of 2010. I don't know about you, but by March I get use to writing the correct year. And with the new year comes resolutions; more specifically, weight loss resolutions. Yup the time of year gym memberships skyrocket! Well for the first time in many years, that will not be my resolutions! Un-un! For those of you that will make and break that resolution-good luck! HA!

For me, this year was bittersweet. I gained new relationships and had the daunting task of severing dead relationships and old ties. But it all worked out for the good-for my good. I'm so excited about reacquainting with my favorite passion-ACTING! Stay glued for future news about that! And I'm equally excited about the graduation of one of my favorite people! He worked so hard to obtain his degree and I'm so proud of him for sticking with his goals even when faced with adversity! (More on that too in the near future! wink)

Enough about that...let's rewind and remember what happened back then in 2010...(ugh, corny)!

Anywho:

Haiti:
How can anyone forget this devastation!?!? No matter what anyone's beliefs were as to why such a natural disaster hit the country, the fact remains that over 200,000 people lost their life; and millions were left homeless.
The Edwards Split
John and Elizabeth Edwards separate! Who could blame her chile? This was an embarrassment on top of hurt for this woman. Here she is going through a medically difficult time and his butt out there getting another woman pregnant! If I were Elizabeth, I would cold cocked both of them...John and his mistress! WAM! I KNOW she would have slept better!
iPAD
And that's all! I don't have one so....yeah(shrugs)
You Tiger!
Tiger Woods admits to cheating on his wife! And his wife whoop him with a golf club! And I don't care! Tiger is clearly not the cheating type. He did a horrible job with covering his tracks and now he has to pay up. Get your money Elin!
What You Talking About Willis
Gary Coleman ashy self passed away in May. (I just realized I haven't included the months with each moment-oh well!) I haven't followed his death closely but I have a feeling his estranged wife was involved in some way! She better hope he doesn't come back and hit her in the knees!
Tip of the Iceberg-June
Al and Tipper Gore separate! What is going on down there in Capitol Hill? Lord, let the Obamas stay together! Jesus!
End of the Dumbest War-August
Thank you President Obama! Can someone tell me why we were over there again? And don't you come with that weapons of mass destruction and protecting our way of life garb either! That war American funded aided in this enormous deficit we have now!

and I'll end with....

Eddie and Sons-September
Sex allegations were filed against Eddie Long by young men who were once close to this bishop. Eddie Long denied the allegations and vowed to fight! His quote of he feeling like David against Goliath spread like wildfire amongst media outlets...however, now he's considering settling out of court! I'm guilty of thinking the good bishop would fund this settlement via church funds, however, the church filed a conjunction to protect its funds. Ugh, ugly! But some way some how, I have a feeling New Birth will foot the bill! I'm just saying!

And with each year, there's a list of those whose journeys end...

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN
BARBARA BILLINGSLEY-Leave it to Beaver
DENNIS HOPPER
DOROTHY HEIGHTS
GARY COLEMAN
LENA HORNE
MANUTE BOL
MERTON OLESON-Little House On The Prairie
RUE MCCLANAHAN
SOLOMAN BURKE
TEDDY PENDERGRASS
TOM BOSLEY
TEENA MARIE
ELIZABETH EDWARDS
*MY GREAT AUNT ROSIE LEE STOKER!

I'm sure there were others....charge it to my mind and not my heart! May they rest in peace!

Okay good people, I'll write ya lata!

Question ??Ok. Are there any 12 step programs for shop-a-holics? I think I may need a little help. Am I the only one who will go shopping and feel bad about what was purchased, either while you're standing in line or when you get home? Well I do, normally but today, I felt bad....for all of 5 seconds! I mean when you find some great deals, you HAVE to take advantage.
Ya'll Bath and Body Works is having an awesome sale! They've extended part of their Memorial Day Sale. You buy 3 Signature Fragrances, and get 3 free! On top of that, they give every customer a free pocket size hand sanitizer and a Buy one signature fragrance, get one free. So basically, if you take advantage of the buy 3 get 3 free and use the coupon, you get 7 signature fragrances for the price of 3! My total before the discounts was $73...after the discounts were applied, my total was $34(approx-have to look at receipt). But you can't beat that! And on top of that, their having their Semi Annual Sale next week! So stock up ya'll!!!! And may I suggest BBW's Ocean Men Fragrance for the man/men in your life for Father's Day! And, no I'm not an affiliate of Bath and Body Works...just a frequent customer.

Next up, let me tell you what I picked up at Avenue, Now, I'm not a huge Avenue fan by any means. Why? Because alot of their clothes, to me, are not made for women with hips and butt like mine. In addition, I find most of their clothes to lack that "umph" factor that fashionable junkies like myself enjoy. Remember I said "most" and not all because some of their pieces were rather cute and rockable. Enough of that. I went in Avenue because I saw a huge sign that said "Entire Store BOGO".. Well I didn't find anything that suited my taste so I opted to purchase a girdle and a cute bra. Now they did have some pieces that were cute but they didn't fit right and wasn't cute enough for alteration sacrifices.

I also picked up a few tops at Ross. I really needed some career tops to wear this Summer and found some blouses that were on clearance for 4.99!!!!!!! Yes, plus size tops for 4.99!!!! Can't beat that!

People sleep on Ross because of the hunt that's involved when shopping there, but it's so worth it when you can come out with a bargain. I'm one who searches out bargains because I'm not rich yet...and once I am rich, I'll still explore bargains!

I had so much fun today. Shopping is therapeutic...I don't care what anyone says!Mselle81http://www.blogger.com/profile/18296847503926971372noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8090267637824502873.post-11304430517009192072010-05-30T23:34:00.000-07:002010-05-30T23:39:39.487-07:00Sale-ing takes me away to where I've always heard it could beSo it's officially Memorial Day in the great state of Texas. On this day many people will remember the noble deeds and sacrifices of our men and women in the service. I know it's Memorial Day, but I challenge you to just say a simple thank you to all the men and women who serve/served this country. Their sacrifices can never be repaid but I believe hearing the gratitude of the ones who benefit from their service is repayment enough.

Now, I know their will be cookouts and celebrations in every neighborhood across the country. But while you're celebrating, take a little time to enjoy some of the great Memorial Day deals! I'm eyeing the Bath and Body Works sale like an eagle. You can really rack up on some deals if you play your coupons right. Yes coupons!!! I'm trying to become a coupon connoisseur! (lol) I've purchased a coupon file folder and have been saving my coupons. One day I'll totally get this technique down and compete with the likes of Frugal Coupon Mom. Save your coupons people!!!! Some stores are basically begging you to get free or pay a fraction of the price for items by offering coupons. How often do you take advantage?

But anywho....here's what BBW is offering....

I've finally posted my first blog! This has been a long time coming and now I feel like I've accomplished something in life! lol! But anywho, I was inspired to start this blog because I wanted an avenue to express my thoughts and opinions with people throughout the globe. In doing so I aim to never intentionally offend anyone! I do, however, like to have fun and may joke around but please don't take anything personally. With this said, please remember that this blog includes MY thoughts and opinions. If you don't agree with something I said and would like to comment, please be respectful! I will not tolerate disrespectful, demeaning behavior on my blog! Basically, let's all be civil!

Enough of that...Hi, I'm Elle(L)! That's short for LaNiya,,,let's say it together LA-NIGH-YA! Rhymes with Mariah! I was born and raised in Texas; primarily Dallas. I'm the girl...across the street! I love being a woman 300 days out of the year. The other 65 I think about what I'm going to say to Eve when I meet her! Acting is my passion! Fashion is my friend! Makeup is my on and off again associate! Food is my shadow! Weight loss is a mountain I'm trying to climb! Church is a must! God is good! More about Elle coming in future blogs. Ok, enough of that too! I want to talk about Ashley Stewart...

Let me the first to say thank you for updating your online store because for a moment, I was worried. I live in a city that doesn't have a Ashley Stewart so I rely on the online store. However, lately, I would visit the site and wouldn't see anything appealing to the eye. I mean the pieces on the home page were nicely modeled and accessorized but when I visited the apparel section, the clothes were rather blah and looked more suited for a middle-aged woman. Sorry A.S., your girl was about to toss you in the pile with Avenue, Catherine's, and Fashion Bug.

I like AS for many reasons but the main reason is AFFORDABILITY! I'm a State worker and my income isn't conducive with frequent high end fashion spending. For this reason, I tend to favor AS over Lane Bryant. I know...I know, Lane Bryant isn't high end, but they're HIGH...for no reason IMO! Lane Bryant gets my business when they have a sale or when I have Real Women $$. To me, there's no difference in fabric quality when it comes to AS vs LB. My AS pieces usually out live LB pieces. So AS it is.

Here are some of the pieces I selected to purchase.

I love this chambray ruffled top.
